What is an escape house?
The Loretto Escape House is a unique variation of the Escape Room concept. In a traditional escape room, parties of up to 8 people are locked in a room full of traps, codes, hints, ciphers, and puzzles and given one hour to solve their way out. In an Escape House, the concept is similar, but you must navigate from room to room solving puzzles as you go. It is like getting multiple escape rooms in one adventure.
Wait, what? Am I really locked in? What if I don't get out in time?
For the purposes of the game you are locked in, but in reality you have the ability to leave the room at any time. There are multiple easily accessible emergency exits for your safety and comfort. Using any of the emergency exits DOES NOT eliminate you from returning to the game.
Is this a scary or haunted house?
NO! The theme might be a little dark in that you do find yourself trapped in a house, but nothing is going to jump out at you, and you don't have to put your hand in a bowl full of "eyeballs" or anything like that.
Do I need to be a direct descendant of MacGyver to participate? Must I be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound?
The house is designed to be challenging but yet fun for everyone at the same time. Too easy and it's simply no fun. Too hard and shear frustration destroys any enjoyment. Furthermore, the physical requirements are such that just about anyone can participate. There are no required acrobatics, physical lifting, or mechanical skills required outside of what would be considered normal day-to-day tasks.
How many people can play at once?
The rooms are designed for up to 8 people.
How much does it cost?
The cost is $25 per person.
Alright, I have a group but it's so hard to get everyone to decide on a day and time.

Simply create a few days and times as options and share the poll to your intended group using Facebook Messenger. As they respond with their selection you can easily see at a glance the best time to book your session.
Can I just show up and pay at the door?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the scheduling and cash handling logistics everything is handled automatically through the website
When are you open? Do you offer times other than just the weekends?
We generally list a bunch of sessions on Fridays and Saturdays which seem to be the most popular. We can probably accommodate just about any time you'd like. Just contact us by email, Facebook, or calling 814-419-5535 and we can probably list a special time slot just for you.
If I don't have a group of 8, will I be mixed with strangers?
It is quite possible that others will be looking to try the house without a full group at the same time. We will combine groups when it makes logistic sense. To ensure your exclusivity, you must have enough members to fill the room.
Can I bring my children? Are there age requirements?
While there are no hard age restrictions, you have to decide if your child would understand, be able to participate, and enjoy this type of event. All minors must have a waiver signed by their parent and all minors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
What about bringing pets?
We design the games for humans only. Pets seem to find our choices in entertainment a bit substandard to their own...they won't be happy here anyway. Best to leave them at home. Exceptions will be made for service animals.
